Simple Outdoor Yard Fall Decor

It’s a slight chill in the air and the heavy-filled foggy mornings that beckon me outside.

Goldenrod stands tall across the street waving in the wind. The big leaves of the Maple are just starting to fade from their vibrant green colors.

The stores are filled with Mums and pumpkins in all sizes and colors and the apple trees are loaded with plenty for all.

Anticipation builds, looking forward to the beginning of fall. It seems to be signaled by colorful leaves, crisp air, and a bountiful harvest of apples and pumpkins.

Grab a cup of coffee and join me as I show you where I take a moment to enjoy the beauty of each morning.

The entire exterior of our home was recently redone and in order to do so, we had to remove our large front deck.

While there isn’t a large deck to decorate on anymore, there are some stairs that I was able to add some fall decor on. These galvanized buckets were filled with Mums. Then, I added a few white pumpkins.

You don’t have to have a large space to create a fall welcome for friends and family. Pumpkins and mums placed on the stairs create a cozy welcome that says, “come on in”!

Simple Fall Farmhouse Yard | Porch Decor

I’m very much a traditional fall decor kind of gal and love using old vintage pieces that have been purchased at flea markets, garage sales, or auctions. Vintage pieces add a great deal of character to any garden area.

The old garden wheelbarrow is one of those treasured garage sales finds. So, each fall season it is filled with Mums to add fall color to the otherwise green shade garden. Another galvanized bucket was placed on the ground and filled with yellow Mums.

The weather hasn’t turned cool enough for the perennials to die back. However, just adding the colorful Mums was enough to add the fall color to the yard.

Haybales | Mums | Pumpkins | Outdoor Fall Decorating

Simple touches were added around the potting shed by adding a haybale, Mums, and more pumpkins. On the door of the shed, I hung a very simple gathered wildflower wreath.

Cornstalks and dried sunflowers are another fall staple that is great for outdoor fall decor. Cornstalks are generally easy to find and they add height to the back of a grouping when placed into a container.
