Farmhouse Country Christmas Home Tour 2017

Honestly, this has been the oddest Christmas season for me. The time has slipped away so quickly regardless of not being caught up in the hustle of the season. I buy very few gifts and I focus mainly on time, traditions and togetherness during this season. I normally have the entire home decorated by December 1 and this year I managed to do what I wanted by December 15. In keeping with my traditional style, it's simple, nature inspired and pretty plain. I find it cozy, warm and inviting without feeling cluttered and over done.

I purchased real trees this year as I have done in the past. I love the smell of walking into the home and being hit with the aroma of fresh cut trees. The trees were purchased from a local store, brought home and sat down in crocks filled with water. I had them scattered throughout the home but watched as my husband was cutting wood one day and thought how pretty they would be sitting on stumps. So, off I went to ask him to cut these pieces for the trees. I left them plain with the glow of white Christmas lights and I love the simplicity.

Lots of fresh greenery tucked into crocks, real Christmas trees and white lights with a cozy throws and pillows is what my Christmas home is all about this year. This is the first year that I haven't been in a rush to take it down and I think it is because it is just so simple and not overly done.

My wish for you this season is that you can enjoy the time with family and friends, to remember what the season is really about and to simply find some rest. Merry Christmas!
