Rustic Farmhouse Christmas Home Tour 2017

Rustic Farmhouse Christmas Home Tour

I had such a great time decorating our home this year in a rustic farmhouse Christmas style. I wanted to keep our Christmas decor simple, natural and cozy. This is our living room decorated for the Christmas season.

Rustic Nature Inspired Christmas

As with most seasons, I turned to nature for my inspiration during this Christmas season. I purchased real trees this year as I have done in the past. I love the smell of walking into the home and being hit with the aroma of fresh cut trees. The trees were purchased from a local store, brought home and sat down in crocks filled with water. The trees were scattered in various areas throughout the home but I decided to group them together and I loved the outcome. My husband cut the stumps for the crocks to sit and that gave the grouping a more rustic feel. I left the Christmas trees plain with the glow of white Christmas lights and I love the simplicity.

I chose to decorate the living room in natural elements of fresh greenery, garlands and more Christmas trees in crocks. Adding in a throw blanket and pillows creates a environment that feels cozy and warm.

Fresh Greenery

I used a lot of fresh greenery tucked into crocks, real Christmas trees and white lights to create a cozy rustic Christmas feel. I have had success with keeping our greenery fresh by using these few steps before displaying the greenery.

My wish for you this season is that you can enjoy the time with family and friends, to remember what the season is really about and to simply find some rest. Merry Christmas!
