Simple Nature Inspired Farmhouse Table Setting

When I began to think about our table setting for this fall season, I looked to nature for what I could use. I wanted a budget friendly table setting that could be left on the table throughout the season. I needed it to be simple, easy to set food around and I wanted it to be something that the children could be involved with.

The children and I gathered branches and acorns to create the nature inspired centerpiece. To hold the branches, I took a gallon size green bean can and spray painted it black. We placed the branches inside the can and then stuffed paper around the branches to hold them in place. The moss was placed on top of the paper and left to drape around the can for an added rustic natural touch. We then put a tiny amount of hot glue on the acorns and glued them to the branches.

Simple Fall Table Setting

I kept the table setting very simple because our family gathers at the table for each meal, and I wanted something that was practical, yet festive and pretty. For our place settings I used a black and cream striped placemats with a matching napkin tucked inside a solid black wooden napkin ring. You can see how I made these homemade placemats and napkins from flour sack towels by visiting this post.
