The festivity of the seasons is upon us and I have been spending some time thinking about my holiday decor for the season. I walked into a certain home decor store this evening and walked out empty handed. There was a lot of holiday decor in vibrant colors and lots of glitz and glamour in the form of all kinds of glitter and shimmer. That's just not my style and so I came home to gather up some more natural ideas which are more my style.
I love using real greenery in my home and especially during the holiday season. Celebrating the holidays is more than just all the pretty. We have five senses and I believe each one should be used to take in every aspect of the seasons. As Christmas approaches I really think about the scents of the season. Fresh cut trees, gingerbread cookies, baked pies, spices, wood burning in the fireplace, dried oranges and peppermint candy canes. I love the experience of the holidays more than all the gifts could ever measure up to.
I love using real wreaths in my home. The scent of the fresh herbs or the recently cut pine, fir or cedar needles filling the air is a comfort scent of home during the holiday season. I really enjoy making my own wreaths although they aren't quite as full and beautiful as these that I have linked up for you.
One of the beautiful things about a fresh wreath is that they dry within 10 to 14 days but stay beautiful for a long time. They can be used throughout the year and you don't have to worry about storing them away each season.
Whether your wreath hangs on the front door, the windows or maybe even the interior doors of your home, these are sure to bring a beautiful touch of holidays to your home.
