Why Should You Make Your Own Hot Chocolate?
Have you ever picked up the hot chocolate packets at your local grocer and read the ingredients? They are packed full of sugars and some of them even have ingredients that you can’t pronounce. Making your own hot chocolate ensures that you are consuming healthy real ingredients that are great for your body!
How to Make Healthy Hot Chocolate with Real Food Ingredients
1/4 cup cocoa
1/2 cup xylitol or other sweetener of your choice
1/2 tsp salt
1/3 cup water
2 cups almond milk
1 cup half n half
1 cup heavy whipping cream
1 tsp vanilla
In a saucepan mix the cocoa, gentle sweet and salt.
Add the water and bring the mixture to a boil.
Boil for one minute.
Add almond milk, half n half, heavy whipping cream and bring to a temperature that you desire.
Remove from heat and add vanilla. Enjoy!
This recipe makes about a quart of hot chocolate. I love to make a batch and store what I don't drink in the fridge. This is perfect for those cold days and when you need a quick chocolate fix.
